Anton “Tone” Skerl

ANTON “TONE” SKERL age 82, was born January 6, 1940 in Begunje pri Cerknici, Slovenia and passed away September 1, 2022 at his residence in Kirtland, Ohio where he lived for the past 48 years.

Tone was a cabinet maker by trade and worked building houses. He then later worked at Leiden Cabinet Company in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local #435, Slovenska Pristava Pensioners and AMLA. He enjoyed wood working, playing bocce ball, basketball, tennis and listening to Slovenian polka. He was very generous with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ludmila “Milka” (nee Bonac); daughter Miriam and son Rudy; Siblings Matija (wife Angela), Ana Slana (husband Zvone, deceased), Tereza Kaiser (husband Marjan, deceased), Lojze (wife Angela), France (wife Marja), Rozka Kateren (husband France, deceased), Zofka Stajnsek (husband Joze, deceased); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Amalija (nee Brancelj), siblings Joze, France, Francka Komidar (husband Stane, deceased), Barbara Marincic (husband Mirko, deceased), Janez (wife Zdenka), Jernej, Sr. Minka, MMS and Antonija.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Tone to Divine Word Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Road, Kirtland, Ohio 44094.  Private Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tone at THE CHURCH SATURDAY MORNING 10 – 11 AM. Arrangements by the ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
