Audrey W. Bukvic

It is with great sadness that the family of Audrey W. Bukvic (nee Weir) announces her passing on January 16, 2022 at the age of 87.  She was born May 12, 1934 in Cleveland, the third of five children, to Bill and Margaret Weir. She attended John Marshall High School and continued a family tradition of working at Cleveland City Hall.  She served as secretary to Cleveland Mayors Thomas Burke and Anthony Celebrezze and as an assistant to U.S. Senator Thomas Burke.

Audrey married Joseph Thomas Bukvic in 1956 and became the loving, guiding influence in raising four beautiful children. She cherished family, holiday gatherings, and playing pinochle.  Her caring and unselfish life example was a lesson for all, including 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Audrey is survived by Joseph, her devoted husband of 65 years; children Tom (wife Judy), Jim (wife Camille), Joe (wife Sharon) and Mary Therese Voracek (husband Ralph, deceased); grandchildren Megan Moody, Ryan Sweesy (deceased), Tommy, Kerry Bossard (husband Casey), Brett (wife Christina “CJ”), Danielle Ellerhorst (husband Andrew), Kristin Voracek, Jamie D’Andrea (husband Joey), Joseph Voracek, and Jake; and great grandchildren Audrey, Christopher, Quinn, Cash, Cruz, Eloise, Amelia, Georgia, Natalie, James “Ford”, Anthony, Josie and Penelope “Pippa”. She is also survived by her sister Fran Horn. Dearest sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt of many.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Margaret Weir; siblings Jim Weir, Pat Cervenik, and Barbara Weir.

Celebration of Life Service will take place Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m at the Funeral Home. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Audrey at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2:00-6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in memory of Audrey to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
