Barry O'Kelly

August 18, 1957 — July 24, 2025

BARRY ALAN O'KELLY age 67, beloved partner and best friend for 27 years of Anne Thomas; cherished son of Carroll O'Kelly (nee McCracken) and the late Gary Patrick (wife Sharon) O'Kelly; loving brother of Lisa O'Kelly Nye (husband Edward) and Teresa O'Kelly; uncle of Melissa Rose and Garrett Nye: companion to his birds Ozzy, Lila, and Shiloh, and his dear dog, Bella. He will also be missed by many loving family members and friends.

Barry was born on August 18, 1957, in Charleston, West Virginia. At age 11 he moved to Cleveland Heights and on to Russell Township, Ohio and graduated from West Geauga High School. He spent his adult life in Cleveland and various suburbs, where he worked for many years as a steel slitter. He enjoyed having fun and was often perceived as being mischievous and a little rambunctious. At most family gatherings there were stories told of adventures and trouble Barry got into, sometimes involving a few of his cousins.

Barry loved music, especially classic rock and roll. Ozzy Osbourne was his favorite musician and celebrity. He saw him live in concert many times and named his beloved cockatiel after him. On July 22nd he texted Teresa... RIP Ozzy and let her know he was not feeling well. He was taken to the hospital for the last time later that night.

Barry enjoyed playing billiards, winning radio show contests, and was a fan of all things Cleveland especially WMMS, The Indians & The Browns. Barry was a soft-spoken, gentle giant who always had a little twinkle in his eye. He is remembered for his kind spirit and his role as a loving partner, son, brother and uncle. He fought long and hard, we are happy he is pain free and at peace. Love you forever and always.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made; care of Teresa O'Kelly for cremation expenses.

Cremation by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
