Beatrice Millar

December 19, 1921 — October 13, 2025

BEATRICE MILLAR (nee Aruscavage) passed away Oct. 13, 2025, aged 103 years, beloved wife of the late James Wilson Millar Jr., loving mother of James Wilson Millar III (deceased) (wife Pam), dearest grandmother of James D. Millar and Elizabeth G. Millar, daughter of the late John and Suzanna (nee Maxim) Aruscavage, fond sister of the late John, Lenore, Mildred and Alvina, dear aunt and grand-aunt.

Beatrice (Bea) Margaret Millar was born December 1921 in Duryea, Pennsylvania, and passed away in October 2025 at 103. She attributed her long life to her strong Catholic Faith, one of her favorite daily activities was to pray the rosary, and to ensuring her family was living happy and fulfilling lives, and to enjoying the occasional nightly glass of Sherry with a small bit of chocolate. She was extremely smart with her money and could recall nearly anything she ever learned. She especially enjoyed reading the supermarket ads, shopping, and was the family go-to person if you needed to know if something was a good deal. She'll be remembered for her delicious meals she made from that shopping, like stuffed cabbage (piggies), cabbage soup, meat loaf, baked ham, mashed potatoes, jello salad, and so many more unforgettable meals, made with large amounts of love. She will be dearly missed.

Her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio in the late 1930s. She received only a high school education and went onto hold multiple high level secretarial and typist roles for local area companies. She settled down with her husband, James Jr., in Euclid, Ohio in the 1950s and built a lasting home there, where she would live for 60 more years. They were one of the first families in their new neighborhood and watched as the homes around them were built up. They made lasting friendships in their neighborhood and could tell you about anyone on their street. After having her son, James III, she became more of a home maker, and her passion for cooking flourished. Her favorite times of the year were the holidays when she could cook exceptionally delicious meals for her family. Unfortunately, her husband passed away shortly after in the late 1960s, she then had to balance being a working mother and a home maker. She excelled at both through her sheer stubbornness and love for her family.

She finally retired in the early 1990s to spend more time with her growing family. She had two new grandchildren, James and Elizabeth, who she helped teach with her years of experience and spoiled them rotten with her amazing meals. Bea is remembered as kindhearted, intelligent, and stubborn to a fault. She always kept her friends and family in her prayers, and now she is in our's. She passed away peacefully on October 13th after seeing her family for one last time, knowing that she will be remembered and loved. She will always be remembered in all the hearts of those she has touched.
