Beatrice Frances Pestotnik

Beatrice F. Pestotnik (née Jakomin) of Madison Ohio, passed peacefully in the presence of loved ones on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Born March 26, 1926 to Ludwig Jakomin and Frances Grilc Jakomin in Cleveland, Ohio, Bea lived a life rich in song, artistry, family, and love.

Bea is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John S. Pestotnik, and daughter Linda M. Cimperman (Paul). She is survived by sister Bernadette Kotorac, daughters Marcia A. Dziczkowski, Sandra J. Eckart (Dennis), grandchildren Tricia Terauds (Ed), Allan Sinkovic, Scott Sinkovic (Vanessa), Tina Sinkovic (John), Tracey Sinkovic, Edward Eckart (Misty), David Sinkovic (Samantha), and 13 great grandchildren.

She attended St. Vitus School and Jane Addams High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and worked at Ohio Bell in Cleveland. Never a dull moment in the Pestotnik household, Bea volunteered for numerous organizations, led her daughters’ campfire girls programs, sewed costumes for their musicals, helped at her daughters’ schools, and was an active member of Tony Petkovsek's Radio club, the United Slovenian Society and numerous Slovenian organizations. She helped raise funds for The Slovenian Old Aged Home.

Bea was also co-owner of Bernadette Bridal for years in Euclid, designing headpieces and enjoying helping new brides find the perfect dress.

Her love for singing began at a young age, and Bea sang on stage and even radio as a youth. That passion carried on for the rest of her life, with the Milan Racanovic polka band, the Zarja Singing Society, and leading impromptu family choruses with her voice and piano-playing at countless get-togethers.

Ever the creative type, Bea also took to canvas with her art, painting landscapes and flowers and portraits over the decades.

She also loved to travel, visiting Slovenia many times, enjoying the old country and maintaining strong ties with family and friends.

And, of course, Bea shared her love with food. Her kitchen always brimmed with the aromas of a tasty meal, and it wouldn’t be a holiday celebration without one of Bea’s famous apple strudels.

We love you, Bea, a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck!
