Ben Bonanno

BENEDETTO "BEN" BONANNO, born on April 11, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, and passed away on March 2, 2024 at the age of 90. Beloved son of the late Catherine (nee Milicia) and Mike Bonnano, devoted brother of Marie B. Garbo (Sam), treasured uncle to Salvatore Garbo (Beth), Catherina Garbo and Michael Garbo (Suzanne). great uncle to Kelly Overstreet (Mike), Jenny Garbo (Sean), Mitch Kuk, and Bobby Nieto-Garbo and a great-uncle to many nieces and a nephew. 

Ben devoted his life to assisting the developmentally disabled. He graduated from Miami, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He started his career at Goodwill, rising to Director of Operations. After 27 years, he retired from CARR where he was Executive Director. Ben was on staff for many Governor and Presidential committees for the Americans with Disabilities Act. He spoke at many seminars on both a national and international level advocating for the developmentally challenged. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A service celebrating the life of Ben will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the funeral home at 1 PM. Private burial in Lake View Cemetery Mausoleum. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Ben at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON RD. (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SATURDAY MARCH 16, FROM 12 NOON UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.
