Bernard "Bernie" Samac

BERNARD THOMAS "BERNIE" SAMAC, age 78, beloved husband of the late Renee (nee LaFrance); loving father of Tracy Dougherty (husband Michael) and Erik (wife Jennifer); devoted grandfather of Nikolena, Niko and Max Samac; cherished son of the late Steve Samac and Mary (nee Karpacs); dearest brother of Steve (wife Carol deceased), Val (wife Bonnie), Cathy Meyers (husband Gary), Sharon Marconi (husband Greg deceased) and the late Caroline Samac; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Bernie had a career as a Building Commissioner with the City of Mayfield Heights. He liked to fish, play golf and work in his yard. He could also be found listening to country music or cheering on his favorite sports teams.

He was an easy-going, friendly person who was known to be sociable, helpful and giving to all. He will be remembered as a man who was dedicated to his friends and family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Celebration of Life Service Friday, June 12, 2026, at 1 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bernie at DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91), FRIDAY MORNING 11 AM - 1 PM.
