Blase Pietrafese

August 28, 1944 — September 14, 2025

Blase M. Pietrafese, 81, of Mayfield Village, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 28, 1944, he was the son of Judge Joseph S. Pietrafese and Rosemary (Lerro) Pietrafese. Proud of his Italian heritage, Blase lived a life defined by energy, generosity, and steadfast devotion to family and community.

A 1962 graduate of Warrensville Heights High School, Blase captained the football team his senior year. He earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. After a period teaching high school and exploring several career paths, he became a licensed real estate broker and later followed his lifelong passion for automobiles as owner of Willowick Auto Wholesalers and Broadway Auto Sales. He also served his community as a youth sports coach and in local government as a councilman and as Mayor of Mayfield Village.

Blase was married to the love of his life, Cheryl, for 52 years. Together they raised two sons, Brent (Cheryl) and Brad (Maryscott). He was the proud "Papa" to five grandchildren: Brent, Lily, Rosalie, Biagio, and Bowen. He was the brother of the late Joanne Feudo and brother‑in‑law to Vince Feudo, Linda Spotz, and Jim Spotz.

His leisure time was usually spent working on cars, riding motorcycles, or making improvements around the house. Funny how he knew how to fix most anything. His favorite music was Motown classics and the smooth tunes of the Rat Pack. He was a Browns fan, and at every opportunity, he loved taking his sons to the games. Trips to Disney World with the kids, or to visit relatives in Florida became a yearly event.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Blase was always quick to lend a hand and to bring family together. Countless friends and neighbors remember sitting with him at his kitchen table or on his front porch, listening to his colorful anecdotes and benefitting from his practical wisdom. His warmth, humor, and passion for life will be deeply missed.
