BRIGITTE E. REDETZKI (nee Trojok), aged 71 years, died peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2008, on the Outerbanks in North Carolina, beloved wife for 47 years to Horst, loving mother of Burt (Emily) and Peter (Karen), cherished grandmother of Tyler, Mallory and Sasha, dear daughter of the late Wilhelm and Lucie (nee Dumke) Trojok, devoted sister of Renate (Ken) and Viola, treasured aunt of Taylor, Christina and Jeanette and dear great-aunt of Nina. Brigitte was born in Berlin, Germany on July 17, 1937, witnessed President John F. Kennedy s famous ‘Ich bin ein Berliner ‘ speech in 1963, and shook hands with Robert F. Kennedy during his visit to her then employer, R.I.A.S. (Rundfunk im Amerikanischen Sektor) radio station. She emigrated to the United States in 1964. She was present at the celebrated fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. She was a fabulous cook who handed down many favorite German recipes. She retired in 1999 after working many years as secretary to the Dean of Students at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Funeral services Friday, Aug. 1, 2008 at the funeral home at 1:30 PM. Rev.
