Carole Jean Lester

CAROLE JEAN LESTER (nee Mocilnikar) age 82, beloved wife for 60 years of Lawrence; loving mother of James (wife Susanne), Diane Lester Dumstorff, MD (husband Mike), Susan Lester, and Joseph (wife Kourtney); devoted grandmother of Olivia, Claire, Joey, Caroline, Michael, Anna, Khloe, Luke, Casey and Jimmy; cherished daughter of the late James and Frances “Faye” (nee Gricar) Mocilnikar; dearest sister of Marcia Mocilnikar and sister-in-law of the late Joseph and Janice Lester; dear aunt and great-aunt and friend of many; Special thank you for the love and care from her friend and caregiver Brittany Magruder; Survived by her grand dog Charlie.

Carole was born on August 16, 1941. She graduated from Hoban Dominican High School in 1959. Carole lived in Richmond Heights before moving to Willoughby Hills 48 years ago. She was a member of St. Noel since 1980 where she worked in the Parish office as the Office Manager. She was a Eucharistic Minister and a Sacristan at the Church. Carole enjoyed playing cards (especially Samba and Solitaire), doing puzzles and golfing (played at Pebble Beach). She was an avid Indians, Browns and Cavs fan. Carole loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. You would often find her listening to music as she enjoyed Elvis, Lawrence Welk, songs from the 1950’s and a great Polka. Carole loved assisting her husband Larry and sister Marcia with the collectible Hosta. Most would say she was a sociable and hospitable person who was selfless and always tried to help others. She loved the holidays and spending them with family and friends. Carole was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and her faith. Carole passed away on October 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Contributions may be made in memory of Carole to St. Noel Catholic Church and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at St. Noel Catholic Church 35200 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills, Ohio at 11 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Carole at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 2 – 4 and 5 – 8 PM.
