Catalina Santoscoy

(nee Lujan) age 87, beloved wife for 55 years of the late Carlos; dear mother of Daniel (wife Lynne), Carlos J., and Sofina Tami Wilt (husband Richard); devoted grandmother of Zacarias Xenakis, Nathan Santoscoy (wife Loren Lee), Ricky Wilt, Timothy and Shawn Finn, Ashley and Austin Wilt, Noah Santoscoy, Britnee and Halle Wilt and great-grandmother of Alice Wilt and one more on the way; cherished daughter of the late Jesus Lujan and Estanislada (nee Marta); dearest sister of Mary Gutierrez (husband Tony deceased), proceeded in death by 3 brothers, and 3 sisters; dear aunt, great-aunt, and friend of many.

Catalina was born on May 25, 1938, in El Paso, Texas where she graduated from El Paso High School in 1957. She went to nursing school after high school and worked as an LPN in El Paso. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1982. After working for many years as an LPN, she retired from Hillcrest Hospital in 1989. In her spare time, Catalina was a volunteer at McGregor Home and was known for her work ethic. She was a devoted member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church participating in the choir, lectures, Bible study, and as a caring Eucharistic Minister where her faith shined bright. In Catalina’s down time she enjoyed a variety of music genres, cooking, gardening, dancing, singing, and making others laugh. She will be remembered as a social butterfly, a friendly spirit, one that gave the best hugs, and ultimately for her devotion to family and faith.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 1545 S. Green Rd., South Euclid at 10 AM. Burial following at Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Catalina at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 5-7 PM.
