DAVID E. CASE, age 87, beloved husband of the late Margaret “Maggie” (nee Ginthner); loving father of Julie Vlach and Amy Seyer (husband David); devoted grandfather of Elizabeth Baxter (husband Connor), Kathryn Buell (husband Jack), Megan Vlach (fiancé Jared Lundgren), Caroline Seyer and Benjamin Vlach and great-grandfather of Hudson Baxter; cherished son of the late David E. and Thayer S. (nee Staley); dearest brother of the late Cynthia Edwards (husband Keith); dear uncle of Laura Andrews (husband Andy) and Kristen Barbaro (husband Joe). Dave was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Dave was born on September 1, 1938 in Erie, Pennsylvania and graduated from Meadville High School in 1956. He attended Grove City College and graduated in 1960. He then bravely served in the US Army through August 1963 when he was honorably discharged.
He began his accounting career at Union Commerce Bank in downtown Cleveland, and retired from Allied Steel & Tractor Products in Solon, Ohio after 23 years.
Dave was an active member of both St. Paschal Baylon and Holy Angels Church. He served as a eucharistic minister, lecturer, and funeral server.
In his free time, he enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, reading and cheering on his beloved Cleveland Indians. He and Maggie enjoyed traveling the world and experiencing new cultures. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandson.
Dave was social and friendly and could always be seen smiling and making people laugh with his sense of humor. Many cherished moments were spent with his many life-long friends; many friendships span more than 60 years. His devotion to his family and faith were the hallmarks of his life and he will be missed by all who loved him.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Family and friends are requested to meet for Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 13, 2026, 11AM at Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Rd. Chagrin Falls, with Military Honors following the Mass. Private burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dave at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) SUNDAY 2-6PM.
