David E. Tunnell age 58; loving father of Brandon (Rachel Rudolph) and Lea Tunnell; cherished son of Arch and Marlyn (nee Gelo) Tunnell; dearest brother of Danielle Thombs (husband Todd) and the late Gina Desmarais; former husband of Laura Tunnell (nee Novotny); dear uncle of Hannah, Johnny (wife Amanda), Emma (Fiance Corey White) and Lydia Thombs, Shaelyn Desmarais, Michael and Megan Lewis, Jefrey Ficke,  Jonathan and Kristina Baranowski , Kaitlin and Tori Smith and great-uncle of Archie Thombs and Molly Lewis.

David was born on March 30, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Lyndhurst and graduated from Brush High School in 1982, where he enjoyed playing football and baseball. Dave continued his education at Kent State University and Cleveland State University. He devoted many years to Ascentium Capital, as the Equipment Finance Manager. Dave enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, especially Rock, and watching the Sopranos. As a loyal sports fan, he loved watching and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Cavaliers. Dave was an extremely social and fashionable person. His genuine sense of humor and selfless personality made it easy for him to become the life of the party in any setting. He was caring and giving, and through all his trials never complained. Dave’s never endling care and devotion to his family and friends went beyond measure. On June 30, 2022, he passed away leaving his family and friends missing him dearly.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:30AM at St. Clare Catholic Church 5659 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Ohio 44124.

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dave at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) Friday 2-4 and 5-8PM.
