DAVID L. WEBB, age 87, beloved husband for 43 years of late Katherine “Katie” (nee Berch); loving father of Michael (fiancé Whitney), Michelle Webb (wife Donna Sterrick), and Mark (wife Sonal); devoted grandfather of Jonah, Alli, Maya, and Carter; cherished son of the late Richard and Ethel (nee Harris); dearest brother of the late Raymond and Richard; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Veteran.
David was born on August 18, 1937, to Richard and Ethel Webb, in Cleveland Ohio. He graduated from Collinwood High School in 1954 and married the love of his life, Katie, in 1961. The two of them settled down in Eastlake and started a family of their own. After several years, they moved to Mayfield Village where they stayed for 30+ years before he moved to Willoughby Hills after her death. David worked at Custom Clutch, Joint, and Hydraulics as the general manager, where he retired from after 42 years. He was a member of both the Mayfield Heights Lions Club and the Willoughby Hills Lions Club, having dutifully held the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer for many years. He also belonged to the Collinwood Memories Club and the Chagrin Valley Trout Club, where his social personality, infectious smile, and active participation endeared him to his fellow club members. When not at work or participating in club activities, David could often be found playing cards, watching Hallmark channel movies, or attending a good fish fry. What brought him the most enjoyment in life though was spending time with his family and friends. Thanksgiving and Christmas were important holidays to him. He always remembered to send cards to his loved ones on their anniversaries, birthdays, and other celebratory milestones. David had a truly jolly laugh, and was always trying to make others laugh as the king of dad jokes. Best described as an easygoing man, not much was able to fluster him. He was also incredibly organized, being able to meticulously maintain every important paper and document he acquired. Above all, his kindness was one of his most well-remembered traits. David passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, and will be dearly missed by all those who had the honor of knowing him.
