DONALD J. EVANETICH age 73, loving father of Renee Wilhide (husband Cody) and Darryl; devoted grandfather of Taylor and Carter Wilhide; cherished son of the late Matt and Ann (nee Hribernik); dearest brother of Sharon DeWerth (husband Alan) and the late Matthew; former husband of Catherine Brown. U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran.

Donald was born on January 13, 1950, and passed away in Florida on November 2, 2023. He grew up in Willoughby Hills and graduated from Willoughby South High School in 1968. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. He received several medals of honor including the Purple Heart Medal. He spent time living in Cleveland then settled in Chesterland. Donald was a supervisor at General Motors in Lordstown. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cavs, and Indians and of the Ohio State University Buckeyes.

Donald loved to golf and to be outdoors. He always loved Florida and ended up retiring there. His family would describe him as quiet and reserved, yet sociable. He had a great sense of humor and was devoted to his family. Donald will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Prayers of Christian Burial Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Donald at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) SATURDAY MORNING from 10-11AM.
