DOROTHY P. CERUTI (nee Parma-Wycislik) age 93, beloved wife of the late Joseph; loving mother of Lisa Kimmel (husband Howard), Anne Ceruti Dundon (husband Mark), Joseph Ceruti, Mary Ceruti (husband Jack Hecker) and John Ceruti (wife Angela); devoted grandmother of Adrianne Ceruti, Robert Kimmel, Michael Ceruti and Adeline Hecker; cherished daughter of the late Joanna and John Parma-Wycislik, MD; dearest sister of the late John Parma and Adalin Potylicki; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Dorothy was born in Cleveland on February 15, 1932. She attended Marymount High School and went on to graduate from Kent State University. She furthered her studies at The Cleveland Institute of Art. This education laid the groundwork for a flourishing career as a designer craftsman working in multiple forms including textile arts, metalsmithing, papermaking, artist books and sculpture. She earned recognition for her artwork through exhibitions including several May Shows, earning The Horace E. Potter Award for Excellence in Craftsmanship in 1993 and her work is in the permanent collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Since 2004, she lived in a home she built working with architect Tom Stauffer, AIA and which won Home of the Year from Architect Magazine in 2006.
Dorothy was an active member of the Cleveland community serving in volunteer leadership positions at many organizations. She was a member of the Print Club of Cleveland with her husband, Joseph, since 1953, a member of the Women’s Council of the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Textile Arts Alliance, each for over 40 years and helped organize the Heights Heritage Home and Garden Tour, an important fundraising event for Heights Community Congress. She was strong in her Catholic faith and a devoted parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She had a variety of hobbies including bocce, swimming, gardening and supporting the Indians and Kansas City Chiefs. Her favorite types of music were opera, Frank Sinatra and Louis Prima and she was a season ticket holder for decades at Severance Hall as a supporter of The Cleveland Orchestra .
Dorothy was a creative, highly curious determined independent and occasionally rebellious woman. Throughout her life she upheld an undying devotion to her faith and family which included her many dear friends. She passed away on February 12, 2026 and her family will remember her as classy, sassy and a little bad assy! She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 12021 Mayfield Rd, Cleveland at 10:00AM. Entombment following at Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dorothy at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 3:00-7:00PM.
