EDITH R. FOX, (née Yerga) age 97, beloved wife of the late Edward C. Jr.; loving mother of Edward, III (wife Lena), David (wife Kim), and preceded in death by an infant son; devoted grandmother of Edward, IV (wife Rachel), Tyler and Alyssa; and great-grandmother of Austin; cherished daughter of the late Michael and Julia (née Smelko) Yerga; dearest sister of the late Michael (Bertie, deceased), Geraldine (Ralph, deceased), Julie (Hank, deceased), Valerie (Ed, deceased), Virgie (Joe, deceased), and Ann (Bernie, deceased); dear aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.
Edith was a woman of deep faith. A devoted Catholic, she was a lifelong member of St. Martin of Tours Church in Maple Heights and remained devoted to her parish community even after moving to Chardon several years ago. Edith married her husband, Edward, and together they raised their family in Maple Heights. They shared a devoted partnership that endured until his passing in 1991. She worked for Cook United in Maple Heights for thirty years, but her greatest joy and proudest role was being a mother and grandmother. She took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home hosting holiday gatherings for her extended family. She was active in the Bedford Senior Center community where she enjoyed line dancing with her friends. She loved to bake and was an avid gardener. She proudly remained active well into her nineties, even mowing her lawn.
