Erica Dearth

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Erica Lee Dearth, aged 38 on May 13, 2025, after a nearly two-year battle with cervical cancer. A beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend, she was adored by all who met her.

Erica was born in Euclid Ohio on March 4, 1987. An avid sports fan and softball player, growing up she excelled on and off the field. As a child, she played for various softball leagues, often exceeding the skills of her female and at times male counterparts. She was a 2005 graduate of Villa Angela St. Joseph High School and pursued a career in the medical field. For many years, she worked as a home health aide, providing medical care and companionship to her clients. Kindness, empathy and patience, were always at the fore front of who she was. A true animal lover, she was the kind of person who would have taken in any stray and made them part of the family. She was a doting mom to all her fur babies and their fur friends. Enjoying life was a core principle, and she loved to travel with her family and those closest to her. Whether it was a cruise or overseas family trip, you could always find her having fun under the sun. Her laugh was infectious and at times hilarious. A true friend, she will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Erica is survived by her wife Margarita Bermudez, parents Martin and Christine Dearth and brothers Michael (Erin) Dearth, and Eric Dearth. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents William and Margaret Popovic, paternal grandfather Donald Dearth Sr., uncle Donald (Donnie) Dearth Jr. and aunt Karen Koren.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at DeJohn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 12811 Chillicothe Rd. Chesterland OH 44026, from 9AM - 12Noon.

Words of Remembrance will follow at 12 Noon at the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow the service at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland OH 44026.

A luncheon will be held following the burial at Generations Event & Reception Center, 12809 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland OH 44026.
