EUGENE P. KOGOVSEK, aged 88 years, beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (nee Peters) and the late Jennie M. (nee Gorjanc), dear father of Gino P. (Cathy Jo), Steven E. (Jodi) and Robert C. (Connie – deceased), loving grandfather of Geordi K. Kogovsek (Abbey), Kira Kogovsek, Kayla Ljubi (David), Brittany Kogovsek and A.J. Kogovsek, cherished great-grandfather of Mya Kogovsek and David Joseph Ljubi, son of the late Paul and Margaret (nee Breznik), fond brother of the late Frank and Stanley Znidar, uncle and great-uncle, treasured friend of Lucille Nolan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Eugene suggested to St. Mary Parish, 15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110; or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17870 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church (Holmes Ave.) at 10 AM. Entombment following in All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Eugene at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON RD. (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.

  • Set labor standards in three manufacturing facilities. Laid out 100,000 square feet of manufacturing, plus raw and finished goods warehouses.
  • Capital equipment justification. Responsible for product packaging.
  • Retired as from Perfection Corp. in May, 2007

Apr. 1990 to Jan. 1991     Consultant – Willoughby Hills Development

  • Assisted in a housing development, researched feasibility of building condos, marina and boat storage.
  • Perfection Corporation –
  • Began a labor standards program from scratch.

Jan. 1985 to Apr. 1990     Operations manager-American Interior Design

  • Set up a new furniture manufacturing facility. Laid out the office and shop areas.
  • Responsible for purchasing, quality and manufacturing

Oct. 1983 to Jan. 1985     Plant Manager – Challenger Corporation

  • Responsible for all plant operations of an electrical control and distribution manufacturing operation. Responsible for the layout of a new manufacturing, warehouse and new corporate headquarters in Malvern,
  • Pennsylvania and Newport News, Virginia. Disposed of all inventory, equipment, machinery and furniture in quarter million square feet facility when it was closed in Cleveland.

July 1982 to Oct. 1983      Plant Engineer – GTE

  • Responsible for maintenance and janitorial _personnel for four buildings plus associated grounds.
  • Member, GTE Corporate Environmental Quality Panel. Member of General Manager’s staff.
  • Member of Management/Union negotiation team.

1979 to 1982                   Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor – GTE

  • Responsible for the Industrial Engineering Department, Tool Room and NC Programmers.
  • Responsible for facilities planning.

1969 to 1979                  Senior Industrial Engineer -A.   0. Smith

  • Chairman of Cost Improvement Committee. Responsible for capital justification, job evaluations,
  • make vs. buy process. Set up new products from engineering drawin_gs into production. Cost estimated product lines
  • for the establishment of marketing prices. Member of team which developed MTM labor standard data.
