EVER CHARLES SMITH age 68, beloved husband for 28 years of Colleen (nee Roost); loving father of Patricia (Mark) Porter, April (Darryl) Herring, Ever Smith, Jr.,  Charles Ever Cooper, Charlie Cooper, Virgil Cooper, Candace Price, Shakeisha Cooper, Alex (fiancee Amanda) Smith, and Cassie Smith; step-father of Kelley Dea (Larry), Courtney Quinn, and Katie Abney (Anthony); devoted grandfather of 25 and great-grandfather of 11; cherished son of Charlie (Cleon) Smith and the late Geraldine Smith; dearest brother of Brenda Williams, Elinor Smith, Patricia Smith, and the late Jerome Smith; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Ever Charles Smith was born on January 25, 1954 in Boston, Massachusetts to Charlie Smith and Geraldine Smith as the oldest of their 5 children. The family relocated to the Cleveland area where Ever attended Cleveland schools and also a move to the country where they lived on a farm. Ever worked various jobs, which included the hospitality industry, building supply and scrap metal business.  Although a reserved man, he enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and supporting the Cleveland sports teams. He enjoyed watching Westerns, cooking and barbecuing on the holidays for his friends and family and he loved his Cadillacs. Ever and Colleen spent 28 years together, joining two families and creating one. Ever was a father of 10, stepfather of 3, grandfather of 25 and great grandfather of 11. On March 22, 2022 Ever’s pain and illness was erased when he was called home. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Celebration of Life Service Friday, April 1, 2022 at 12 NOON at THE FUNERAL HOME.

Burial following at Cleveland Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ever at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY from 10:30AM – 12NOON.
