Feliks Okunev

FELIX OKUNEV born on April 3rd, 1939 and passed away at 86 years old on the 21st anniversary of his beloved wife Rita's death on June 24, 2025.

His final moments were happy surrounded by his family.

Felix was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine to Dora Shternfeld and Ilya Haikevich. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He spent most of his career as a structural engineer in Kiev before moving his entire family halfway across the world to America in 1992.

He was brave and optimistic and imparted his wisdom to his loved ones. He loved spending time with his daughter, granddaughters, and great grandsons and participated in every family event small or large.

He wrote poems from his heart, could dance to any song, and in his youth was a competitive swimmer and boxer. He still enjoyed swimming laps and teaching his great grandsons how to swim. 

Survived by his daughter Victoria (Michael) Graber, granddaughters Sasha Graber, Julia (Sean) Shubert and great grandsons Ayden and Isaac.

A funeral will be held on Thursday, June 26th at 12 Noon at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home: 4600 Mayfield Rd., South Euclid Ohio 44121

Visiting hours on Thursday from 12 Noon until 1 PM.

Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 27855 Aurora Rd. Solon, Ohio 33139
