Frances J. Beukemann

Frances J. Beukemann, age 75, of Mayfield Heights, passed away on April 24, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born on February 16, 1949, in Cleveland, OH, and was one of six children of Jean and Margaret Didona growing up in Collinwood, OH. During the “Summer of Love”, 1969, she met her husband, John Beukemann and they began the fulfilling, loving life of over 50 years of marriage until his passing in 2022. She raised four wonderful boys, who went on to bring into her home so much more love and family with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

              Frances could play the accordion and would amaze her family and friends with her playing, passing her love of music to all around her. Her love of exotic jewelry and clothing could be seen everywhere she went. She was never out without looking her best. She was a masterful cook, growing up surrounded by homemade sauces and pastas, to breads and fabulous holiday meals. Frances would cook feasts for every holiday regardless of what was being celebrated. She developed restaurant, catering, and holiday menus throughout her life. Her collection of hundreds and hundreds of cookbooks attested to her love of bringing family and friends together for meals. She loved having all the children in her home, listening to her favorite music making sure everyone had a gift or a treat to enjoy.

Beloved wife of the late John; dearest mother of Robert (Mary), Kelly (Morgan), Arthur (Shoshana), and Justin (Mary Carmell); dear sister of Richard, Charles (Terry) and Christina (Michael), devoted grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 5. In addition to her parents, Jean and Margaret Didona, she was preceded in death by her brother Eugene and wife Paula, brother Philip and wife Shirley.

               The Beukemann family will receive family and friends for a celebration of life and love for Frances on June 21, 2024 at Ottawa Point Picnic Grounds, Ottawa Point Driveway, Brecksville, OH 44141, from 11am till 9pm with services expected in the late afternoon.
