Frances L. Buccilli

FRANCES L. BUCCILLI (nee Petroff), beloved wife for 37 years of Dominic; cherished daughter of Marion (nee Biletnikoff) and the late Philip Petroff; dearest sister of Douglas (Paula), Phyllis Petroff (John Vanni), and the late Gregory and Patricia Petroff; treasured daughter-in-law of Nancy (nee Gagliano) and the late Mario Buccilli and sister-in-law of Joseph Buccilli (Carolina), Gail Buccilli Goldfarb (Steve), Nancy Buccilli Caito and Tom Caito; dear aunt, great aunt and friend of many.

The sun was shining when Frances was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1960 and instilled the positive and giving aspects of her friendly personality. She graduated from East Senior High School in Erie and then earned her bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College in Ohio. Her love for children and friendly down-to-earth approach helped her to excel in her role as an Assistant Art Director at Ursuline College.

Listening to words of her favorite musician, Jimmy Buffet, Frances loved to soak up the sun on the sandy beaches of Key West, Aruba and Cancun. Wherever she was, Frances always had a smile on her face, finding joy in the simple things in life.

Frances passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025. Her family and friends will remember her as a great role model who left a lasting impression on all of those she encountered.

Family and friends are requested to meet for the funeral Mass, Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Communion of Saints Parish, 2175 Coventry Road, Cleveland Heights, OH at 10:30AM. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Frances at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) Friday, May 9, 2025 from 3-8PM.
