Francine N. Ciolfi

FRANCINE N. CIOLFI age 86, dearest mother to Thomas Jr. (wife Marlene) and the late Kathleen Hunter (husband George, deceased); dedicated grandmother to Paula (husband Christopher) Aiken and Michael Ciolfi; proud great-grandmother to Meredith Aiken; cherished daughter of the late Mary (nee Giordano) and George  Chermak and Frank Caporale; dearest sister of Catherine Louise Peskura (husband Kenneth, deceased); cousin, aunt, and great-aunt to many, including Fran (husband Reed), Therese (husband Nick), the late Kenny, the late John, Katie (husband (Josh), Reed Jr., Andy, Nicky, Sophia, and Kenny Jr.

Francine was born on June 30, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio. She lived in the Cleveland area her entire life, for over 40 years in Willoughby, and most recently in Mayfield Village. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and worked as a placement counselor before starting her own business, Associated Employment Consultants.

Francine was very active and enjoyed golf, bocce, and gardening. Playing cards, going on bus trips, and organizing luncheons were some pastimes she enjoyed with the many friends she made over the years. Francine was an exceptional cook. Christmas Eve was a feast of fish, Easter had cuddura cookies, pasta e fagioli was in full rotation and the house smelled of Italian sausage year-round.

Religion, especially prayer, was important to Francine. She would often pray The Holy Rosary and light candles in prayer at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Euclid. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Wickliffe and attending the Christmas Eve Children’s Mass was a special family tradition.

Family was paramount to Francine. Growing up, she was very close to her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her grandson Michael, granddaughter Paula, and great-granddaughter Meredith, were everything to her.

Francine touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

A private graveside service will be held at Willoughby Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
