FRANK CENDOL age 87; loving and caring partner of Ronna Del Torto, loving father of David Cendol (Donna), Robert Cendol (Michelle), Laura Peluso (Micheal), Darci Del Torto (Carl), and Scott Del Torto (Ya); devoted grandfather of Jacob (Kiera), Parker, Ryan, Cameron, Calista, Jillian, Dillon, Andrew, Eric, Evan, and Devin; caring great-grandfather of Lorelai and Finnley; son of Ivan and Rosalia (nee Coceanig); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
Frank was born on November 21, 1937, in Slovenia. As a teenager, he immigrated to the United States, bringing with him a strong work ethic and determination. A natural craftsman, he followed in the footsteps of his Savior and pursued a career as a carpenter. Throughout his life, Frank used his skills to build custom homes, leaving a legacy through his craftmanship.
An active member of his community, Frank was involved in the St. Clair Rifle & Hunting Club, The Vino Club and The HI Rise Ski Club, where he enjoyed camaraderie and fellowship. When not working or attending club meetings, he could often be found pursuing his passions for hunting, traveling, playing and coaching soccer, or cheering on his family at soccer and volleyball games. Above all, Frank was a devoted family man, a proud father, and a loving grandfather who never missed the chance to support his grandchildren at their sporting events, always cheering them on from the sidelines.
In addition to his devotion to family, Frank had a green thumb and took great pride in tending to his vegetable garden. He also loved crafting homemade wine, and time spent with him often involved sharing a glass of wine, accompanied by cheese, salami, and bread, while enjoying warm conversation. Known as a tough Slovenian, Frank was equally admired for his kind and gentle heart, which shone brightest when he was surrounded by his loved ones.
Frank was called to his heavenly home on April 24, 2025, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of his cherished family and friends. His legacy of love, hard work, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
