U.S. Navy Veteran.

Frank Tiernan Hamilton III, age 78, of Cleveland, OH, passed away on August 8, 2025 in the comfort of his residence after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born March 20, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the second of three children to the late Frank and Kathryn Hamilton.

After growing up in Cincinnati, he left to attend the Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, MA for 7th and 8th grade, and then high school at Choate Rosemary Hall private school in Wallingford, CT graduating in the class of 1966. From there, he attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in the class of 1970. While attending school at Chapel Hill, he met his beloved first wife "Mimi" whom he married on August 8, 1970.

After a distinguished four year career in the US Navy earning the rank of Lieutenant based in Virginia, Frank and Mimi raised their three children, Nicole, Geoffrey, and Wesley, in Cincinnati, OH. Frank was very active raising his children, coaching their sports, running his business as President of Short Run Companies, going to Cincinnati Bengals games, playing tennis and golf at the Camargo Club, serving his community through St. Gertrude's catholic church, and spending time with his parents, family, and many good friends.

After the passing of his wife Mimi from cancer on December 7, 2004, Frank had the good fortune of meeting his beloved wife Emily whom he married in Cleveland, OH on October 9, 2010. Frank spent his retired years traveling with Emily, visiting his children and grandchildren, socializing at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club with family and friends, and enjoying life as the effects of Alzheimer's began to close in on him. Known for his cheerful and pleasant demeanor, terrible jokes, and gracious approach to life, Frank was a gentleman to the very end. He is a reminder that "attitude is everything" in life. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
