Gail Frances Moriarty (nee McDermott), age 73, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by her children. Born on July 25, 1952 in St. Mary's, PA, to Edgar and Frances (nee Adams) McDermott, she had been a resident of Chardon since 1997.
Gail graduated from Cleveland State University as a registered nurse and spent the majority of her career working at St. Vincent Charity Hospital. In addition, she spent several years as a successful and award winning realtor. Her passion and dedication to others stood out in her ability to make everyone feel valued, loved, and cared for.
She brought joy to others through her humor, art, and by welcoming all with an open heart and open arms. Gail enjoyed listening to records, solving puzzles, and rooting for the Cleveland Guardians and Cavaliers. She also spent peaceful afternoons walking along Lake Erie and traveling with her friends as often as she could.
It was clear that Gail's greatest delight was spending time with her family, especially her children: Joseph of Chardon, Erin (Curtis) Farlee of Fredericktown, Kerry (Patrick) McLees of Greenville, SC, and Martin of Chardon, and her grandchildren: Harper and Hope Farlee, and Rose, Quinn, and Luke McLees.
Gail was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Michael; parents, Edgar and Frances, brother Denny and sister Molly (Sam) Campola.
Gail touched the lives of all those around her, whether it was patients she treated with so much compassion or the parishioners she worked with as an active member of her church. She will be profoundly missed.
Flowers are appreciated, but in lieu of this, contributions may be made in memory of Gail to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
