Georgene A. Gricar

GEORGENE A. GRICAR (nee Tumbry) age 77, beloved wife for 54 years of Louis; loving mother of Matthew (wife Carol) and Michelle; devoted grandmother of Cassandra Guarnera (husband Ross), Alexis Denson (husband Ryan), Jacob and was soon to be a great-grandmother; cherished daughter of the late George and Margaret (nee Szabo) Tumbry; dearest sister of Georgette Davis and Ronald Tumbry (wife Karen) and sister-in-law of Jerry and Mary Ann Gricar; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Georgene was born on April 10, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on December 31, 2023. She grew up in Euclid and graduated from Villa Angela High School in 1964. She attended Dyke College in Cleveland. She retired from Aetna Insurance as a Claims Specialist Manager. In her free time Georgene loved to sew, play pinochle and listen to polkas and Christmas music. She also loved to bake and cook and clean but treasured most of her time with her grandchildren and playing games with them. Her family will remember her as a social, loving, a caregiver who was selfless and hospitable to many. Georgene was devoted to her family and her faith and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, January 8, 2024, at 10 AM at St John of the Cross Catholic Church, 140 Richmond Rd. Euclid, OH.

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Georgene at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2-5 PM.
