It's with deep sadness that the family of Howard Kast announce his peaceful passing on April 30, 2026, at the age of 89, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert and Adele Kast, Howard developed a lifelong love of music and craftsmanship. A graduate of Collinwood High School, he proudly participated in the marching band playing saxophone and was chosen to play in the All-Ohio State Fair marching band.
Howard dedicated 35 years to General Electric Nela Park as a skilled tool and die maker. He enjoyed camping with his family and being active in Euclid Beach Park Now, The Western Reserve Theater Organ Society, and the Carousel Organ Association of America. Alongside his beloved wife Jance, they shared his love of music through their hand cranked organs. Howard also enjoyed being a volunteer at Playhouse Square as Redcoat.
Howard was the devoted husband of Janice for 66yrs, loving father to Ellen Bibeault (Paul) proud grandfather of Andrea E. Schneck (Trevor) Matthew D. Tarach, Daeli Parker (Denver) and Matthew Bibeault and great-grandfather of 5. He is also survived by his brother Dale A. Kast (Linda) He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son David.
A private celebration of life will take place on a later date.
Howard will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, love of music, and devotion to family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
