JANET "JAN" O'GRADY (nee Camp) age 79, beloved wife of Kevin for 52 years; loving mother of Timothy (Susan Marie Chilcote), Carrie O'Grady, and Michael O'Grady; cherished daughter of the late George and Carolyn (nee Thompson) Camp; dearest sister of the late George (Cindy) Camp; devoted companion to her pets, Freckles, Brightly, Harvard, and Chewy; dear sister in law and aunt of many.
Janet, best known as Jan to her friends and family, was born on July 27, 1946, to George and Carolyn in Cleveland Ohio. She grew up in Chagrin falls and was an accomplished ice skater in her younger years. Jan was a proud graduate of Chagrin Falls High School and decided to continue her education at Cuyahoga Community College where she received her associates degree. It was during her time at Tri-C that she met the love of her life, Kevin, and the two were happily married in 1973. They decided to settle down in South Euclid, where they remained for 50 years. Jan was a devoted freemason who was respected amongst her fellow brethren. She worked for the Cleveland Public School District, where she worked with special needs children. Jan brought three wonderful children of her own into the world and was "mom" in every sense of the word. She continued to follow her passion for ice skating into her adult life and even taught her kids how to skate as well. Jan loved all animals, big and small, and opened her home to rescue cats and dogs. She was also a huge baseball fan and worked part time as a suite hostess for the Cleveland Indians from 1996 to 2015. When Cleveland hosted the All-Star game in 2019, Jan returned to progressive field with her son Michael to work such an important event in the team's history. When she wasn't working or spending time with her family, Jan could be found reading or tending to her roses in the backyard. She was a kind and loving person who always put her family first, and her unique sense of humor never failed to make others laugh. Jan passed away on September 2, 2025, and will be dearly missed by all those who had the distinct honor of knowing her.
