Jean Marie Fini

JEAN MARIE FINI (nee Tonni) age 83, beloved wife for 65 years of Guido; loving mother of Antonio, Ricardo (Marilee), Annetta Lantz (Ronald) and Rosalina (Margaret); devoted grandmother of four, great-grandmother of seven and great-great grandmother of one; cherished daughter of the late John and Lena (nee Montani) Tonni; dearest sister of Perry (Elvie), John (Linda) and the late Peter (Kay) and Judy Tonni; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Jean was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 24, 1941, just two weeks before the Day of Infamy. Throughout her childhood, Jean was a dutiful daughter, always at her mother’s side cooking, cleaning, doing laundry and helping with her siblings, while also excelling at school. She was a proud Collinwood Railroader who also worked to help support her family at the dime store where she met her future husband, Guido, at a chance encounter. After graduating, Jean was a secretary for 30 engineers until she married Guido and began their family. Jean passed away peacefully to join the Lord on August 19, 2025.

Jean was the person who struck up friendly conversations with everyone at the grocery store, who children were drawn to because of her warmth and enthusiasm and who took extended family members to appointments and shopping. She proudly embarrassed her children by showering them with kisses and with love notes on their olive oil-stained lunch bags containing super-sized sandwiches made with her home-baked bread and many other Italian specialties! She also loved to wake her children up in the morning by opening the blinds and singing “Oh what a beautiful morning!” She so treasured being a wife and mother as her true calling.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 23, 2025 at St. Noel Catholic Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, Ohio at 11AM. Entombment following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jean at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-7PM.
