Joan F. Anderson

JOAN F. ANDERSON (nee Kenney) age 89, beloved wife and best friend for 57 years of the late David; loving mother of Jeanine Anderson-Spain (husband Michael Rosciszewski), and the late Lori, Rick, and Lynn Anderson; devoted grandmother of Lindsay and Jenna Spain and great-grandmother of Mia Brown; cherished daughter of the late James and Helen (nee Ballou) Kenney.

Joan was born on April 11, 1936, and passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2025. She was born in Rockaway Beach, New York and was a 1954 graduate of St. Brendan’s High School in Brooklyn, New York. She then moved to Cleveland, OH and later married the love of her life, David. They had 4 children together. Joan worked for 50 years in the advertising sales industry - 30 of those years as the proud owner of her own business, Simply Folders. She worked diligently to provide folders for students in many Northeast Ohio schools and parishes. 

Joan loved to act, sing, and write and was active in both the Euclid and Richmond Heights Little Theater. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, decorating, and entertaining. She was fond of all music but truly enjoyed tunes from musical theater. This wonderful lady was one of the kindest and most giving you could ever know. She was resilient, graceful, warm, strong, stylish, funny, and witty. She had a caring and nurturing way about her that always showed as she supported and protected those closest to her. What brought Joan the most enjoyment in life was her family and friends. She loved to cook for them and to host Sunday dinners and to honor holiday traditions. Joan was a lover of all types of animals and always made room in her home for a pet. She was a football fan and always had high hopes for her Cleveland Browns. Her independent spirit and big heart will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joan to Humane World for Animals or UNICEF. 

Celebration of Life on SATURDAY AUGUST 2, 2025, at 5:00 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Joan at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SATURDAY 2:00-5:00 PM.
