John F. Mchale

JOHN F. McHALE age 91, beloved husband for 71 years of the late Patricia  (nee Oar); loving father of  Patricia Crews (husband Stephen), John (wife Hillarey), Ann “Nancy” McHale (partner Harriet Lester), Stephen McHale and the late Kathleen Pfouts and father-in-law of Suzanne McHale;  devoted grandfather of Ryan, Cait, and Casey McHale, Benjamin (wife Karrie), Matthew (wife Kait) Pfouts and Meghan and Lara McHale and great-grandfather of Kennedy, Kourtney and Kyla; cherished son of the late William and Mary (nee Walsh); dearest brother of the late William (wife Rose deceased); dear uncle and great-uncle of many; lifelong friend of Ray and Ellie Campeau. U.S. Army Veteran.

John was born on January 17, 1932, and passed away on October 2, 2023. He graduated from LaSalle College with a bachelor’s degree. He served in the Army 11^th Airborne Division. John and his family resided in Chagrin Falls for 52 years. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church for 25 years and a former member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where he served as an usher. John went into steel sales and was employed at Heppenstall Steel. He was an avid golfer having won the Tanglewood Club Championship on multiple occasions and golfed with many professional golfers. He was a member of the Trout Club; he loved to make homemade pizza, smoke cigars, tell jokes and to make trips to Philadelphia for Tony’s Pizza. He even made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. He was a fun-loving guy and a great baseball player and played with pro Al Spangler and Pee Wee Reese. He was a huge Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. Family reunions were a favorite of his. John also loved doing home improvements and listening to Tony Bennet, Johnny Mathis, the Bee Gees and Simon and Garfunkel. He was friendly and had a great sense of humor and lived to 91 because he was never stressed. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

DONATE HERE Mass of Christian Burial Friday, October 6, 2023, at Holy Angels Catholic Church 18205 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH at 11:30 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at Restland Cemetery.
