JOHN W. FLORENTINE, Sr., age 86, beloved husband for 57 years of the late Gisela; loving father of John Jr. (wife Kelly) and Jeffrey; devoted grandfather of Beckett; cherished son of the late John W. Florentine and Anna (nee Hollett); loving brother of Kathleen Weikart (husband William deceased); proud uncle of William and Bethany Weikart. US Navy Veteran.
John was born November 12, 1939 in Cleveland, OH. He graduated from Parma High School in 1958 and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity while attending Bowling Green State University. He graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in 1968. He had a career that spanned 36 years with Brush High School starting as an art teacher at Brush High School in Lyndhurst and retiring as the Chairman of the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools Art Department.
His art skills were exemplified in his love of painting and carving and he was a school photographer with Raimor Studios. He loved the outdoors and stayed active swimming, walking, playing racquetball, golfing, camping and traveling. He was always there for anyone who needed him and was a volunteer with the Kirtland Fire Department. John passed away on November 27, 2025. He will be remembered as a thoughtful and friendly man who was devoted to his family, community and students.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Sigma Chi White Rose Ceremony followed by a Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors on Saturday, December 6 at 4PM at The Funeral Home. Family will receive friends to celebrate the life of John at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) from 1-4PM.
