JOHN N. JOURILES, age 95, beloved husband of Ellen (Stamulis) for sixty-seven years, father of Nick, Tim (d. 1959), Joan and Greg, grandfather of Philip Jouriles, Josh Lory, Jennifer Jouriles and Asa Lory, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2020. A great mentor and friend, John was loved by those who knew him for his warmth, generosity, and humor.
A lifelong Clevelander, he served his country with the 86th Blackhawk Infantry division during WWII. John was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his combat service. After the war he participated in his regimental association and more recently with VFW Post 12067 in Chagrin Falls.
He was for many years a devoted coach and Executive Board member of the Tris Speaker Little League as well as a longtime Cleveland Indians season ticket holder.
John has a degree in architecture. Over his career he designed and built a variety of buildings and structures in Northeast Ohio, notably the Cleveland Zoo’s African Plains exhibit.
John was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Visitation hour will be on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 from 10 – 11 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3352 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland Hts., OH 44118, with Funeral Liturgy following at 11 AM. Burial in Lake View Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID.
