JOSEPH KUSNER, JR., beloved partner for 36 years of Ann Davis; cherished son of the late Joseph Sr and Caroline Kusner. Joseph was dearly admired by Ann’s children Angela Farrow and Archie L. Davis; her grandchildren Claude Drake, Erik Drake, Denzell Davis, Dvon Davis, Jasmine Brown and Demetrius Davis and her great-grandchildren Kaylee Drake, Khalil Traylor, Erik Drake Jr., Kayden Drake, Emmanuel Drake, Skylar Davis and Makayla Davis. U.S. Army Veteran.
Joseph was born October 24 in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Kent State University. With a strong and realistic personality, he served as a corrections officer at the Cleveland Justice Center. Joseph was drawn to the outdoors where he could be found trying to catch that whopper fish, tending to his fruit and veggie gardens, beautifying his landscaping or cheering on his all-time favorite team, the Cleveland Indians. He was an excellent cook who challenged himself to prepare delicious meals at home and found his inspiration by tasting the local cuisine. Being a history buff, Joseph sought knowledge through books, movies and travel. Friends and family would describe him as vocal and stubborn at times, but also funny, caring and generous. Joseph passed away on April 18, 2025. Ann and her family were the loving and steadfast center of his world. They will miss his strength and the wisdom he adoringly shared throughout his life.
Contributions may be made in memory of Joseph to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Services were private with burial at All Souls Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
