Katherine Sweeney

Katherine A. “Kitty” Sweeney (nee Kirner) age 73, beloved wife of the late Owen T.; loving mother of John (wife Cindy), Owen T. Jr., Kelly Robertson, and the late Patrick; devoted grandmother of Nicolette, Kaitlyn, and Kassidy; cherished daughter of the late Russell Kirner and Rose (nee Panyak) Kirner; dearest sister of John Kirner, and the late Richard Kirner and Rose Marie Sarli (husband Rocco, deceased); dear aunt, great-aunt and friend of many. Survived by her canine companion Husky-Bella.

Kitty was born on July 10, 1942 in Cleveland, and passed away on February 25, 2016. She was a resident of Bainbridge for ten years, and previously Richmond Heights. Kitty was a member of St. John of the Cross formerly St. Felicitas. Kitty graduated from Collinwood High School. She went on to become a cashier at Kohl’s, and was known as the “Kohl’s Lady”. Kitty loved going to the casino, especially playing video poker. She loved her family and her dogs. She was also a great cook and baker. Kitty was a fun loving, feisty, caring, and compassionate person. Kitty will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Prayers of Christian Burial Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Kitty at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) SATURDAY 11 AM – 1 PM.
