Laurie Casarona (nee Geer) age 74, of Mayfield Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 7, 2025. Beloved wife of 48 years to Frank Casarona. Devoted stepmother to Joseph Casarona, and Jennifer Ezerosky (Joe). Proud and loving Nonnie to Jessica and Jordan Ezerosky. She was the cherished daughter of the late Eugene and Marlene Geer (nee Koeth) and daughter-in-law to the late Frank and Dorothy Casarona. Laurie was the heart of our family. A devoted wife, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and dear friend to many.
Laurie was the oldest of seven siblings and a steady guiding light for each of them. She is survived by her loving sisters and brothers: Claudia Brandeburg (John), Debbie Madonio (Frank), Larry Geer (Ann), Colleen Figueroa (Nestor), Wendy O’Connell (Denis), and Brian Geer (Michelle).
Sister-in-law of the late Sal Casarona (and his late wife Gaynell), the late Tom Casarona, Dennis and Michael Casarona, and Fran Prem.
Laurie was also a proud aunt, great aunt, and friend to many and reserved a special place in her heart for her dear friend, Lu Leonardi.
She lived her life with quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering faith, serving as Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. Her deep Catholic faith was the foundation of who she was, guiding her with grace, compassion, and humility in her daily life.
Laurie approached every aspect of life with a steadfast work ethic, always giving the very best of herself—whether tirelessly supporting those around her or delighting us with her year-round baking, including her legendary Christmas cookies that brought warmth and joy into our homes. She faced her battle with lung cancer as she lived her life with unwavering determination, quiet courage, and enduring grace.
Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the legacy she leaves behind: one of love, faith, family, wit, and laughter. Her presence was comforting, her laugh unforgettable, and her hugs unmatched.
Many thanks to all who provided compassionate care to Laurie throughout her illness and supported her transition home with kindness and dignity. May you rest in eternal peace. We love you forever.
