Marlene O. Cuthbert

MARLENE O. CUTHBERT (nee Otto) age 90, beloved wife for 70 years of Robert; loving mother of Cheryl, Diane Smith (husband Dave), Dale (wife Liz) and Susan Rizzo (husband Jay); devoted grandmother of Derek Smith, Dena Prior (husband Olly), Danielle Moe (husband Eric), Drew Cuthbert, Samantha Cuthbert (fiancé Nolan Becker), Victor Rizzo and Nina Rizzo (fiancé Noah Rau) and great-grandmother of Davey, Bennett, Casey and Ellidy; cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (nee Mikula) Otto; dearest sister of Carol Restly (husband Don); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Marlene was born in Cleveland, OH on April 8, 1935 and graduated from Villa Angela High School in 1953. She then happily devoted her life to her family and faith. After marrying Robert 70 years ago, they delighted in raising four remarkable children, eventually finding great joy in the seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren that would follow. As time permitted around the house, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening and delighting her family with delicious meals. Marlene was also a social person and loved catching up with friends during a happy hour, dancing, playing cards, visiting casinos or attending a Cleveland Indians game. Feeling a need to see the world, she took 18 cruises, travelled around Europe and relaxed at their condo in Arizona. Marlene passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025. She truly made an impact on so many lives and will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 28, 2025 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights, OH at 10:30AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Marlene at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-7PM.
