MARTIN J. LAUBENTHAL age 61, beloved husband of Heidi (nee Weschke); loving father of Hannah (Ryan Miehl) Laubenthal and Emilie (Luke Wypler) Laubenthal; devoted grandfather of Tucker and Finn; cherished son of James and Mary (nee Marrie); dearest brother of Tom (Suzanne), Dan (Teri), Jamie (Shirleen), and Kerri (Paul) Laubenthal-Mollard; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
Martin was born on June 15, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio and worked professionally in the areas of Colorado, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. His career as a Program Manager, and love for his country, aided his position with the Cuyahoga County Commissioners, Cuyahoga County Republican Party, City of Columbus, Attorney General’s Office, Board of Elections, and Auditor of State. Martin was an outdoors man who found himself drawn to the mountains, rivers, trout streams and so much more. He discovered who he was as a young man in the outdoors and found solace in the vastness during his many adventures. Martin loved spending his time fly fishing with friends and family, rock climbing, and ice climbing. However, his girls gave him the most enjoyment in life. He loved his girls which included wife, daughters, and beloved dog Pumpkin. During his hardest days, they provided him peace and a calm place. This devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friends passed away on May 2, 2024, leaving his family missing him endlessly. Although he is physically gone, Martin hopes his family and friends can find just as much comfort in photos of him, as photos of them brought solace to him.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Martin at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10AM-1:30PM.
Prayers of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 1:30PM.
