Mary Lambert

MARY LAMBERT (nee Linkas) aged 91 years, beloved wife of the late Alexander; loving mother of Christina Sweeney (husband Frank) and Lee Lambert; cherished daughter of the late James and Chrisoula (nee Tsironis) Linkas; dearest sister of Nicky Chaldekas (deceased) and Pat (wife Mary, deceased); godmother of Mary Condorodis; dear aunt and great-aunt of many and she loved her 5 grand-dogs.

Mary was a 1951 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and a 1955 graduate with a B.M in piano and a minor in organ and voice. She received her teaching certificate in 1980 and a master's degree in 1989 from Cleveland State University in Choral Studies and Literature. She taught general music in all the elementary schools in Shaker Heights and retired in 2013 after 32 years. She never gave up her private piano teaching, and her motto was "Have piano, will travel" which she did.

Mary was an active member of the Orthodox Women's Guild and the Preservation Society of Northeast Ohio. She was an active member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Cleveland Heights. She taught Sunday school, served on board, and played the organ for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Library Group as a co-founder of the Senior Hellenic Dancers. She was an active member of the choir and enjoyed playing at weddings. She received the Pittsburg Diocese St. Photios award in 2018 and a Church Music Service Award back in 2022 for all 50 years as a choir member.

Relatives and friends received on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, from 10 - 11 AM at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3352 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. Funeral services following at 11 AM. Rev. Fr. Stephen Callos, officiating. Interment Lake View Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID.
