Mary Rose DiFranco (nee Leanza) age 81, beloved wife for 56 years of the late Rocco DiFranco Sr.; loving mother of Christine DiFranco, Rosemary Carver, Rocco DiFranco Jr. (Felicia), Mario DiFranco (Stephanie), and Anthony DiFranco (Kimberly); devoted grandmother of Brittany Glogouski (Chuck), Kevin Carver, Jacob DiFranco, Nicholas DiFranco, Mariana DiFranco, Makenzie DiFranco, and Delayne DiFranco; and great-grandmother of Adalynn Grace Glogouski; cherished daughter of the late Michael and Mary (nee Brunello) Leanza; dearest sister of the late Anthony Leanza; dear aunt, great-aunt , and friend of many.
Mary Rose DiFranco was born on November 29, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Brush High School, graduating in 1962. Two years after graduating, she married the love of her life, Rocco, in 1964. A person of many talents, Mary Rose could be found somewhere in the community helping anyway she could. She was a member of S.O.A.C.C., Montville Ladies Auxiliary Club, and Montville Volunteer Fire Department where she served as an E.M.T. and Firefighter. She was also the Food Service Director for the Jewish Community Center (JCC). Mary Rose spent 28 years as a Bus Driver for Chardon Schools where she retired. When not working or helping the community, Mary Rose enjoyed bowling, traveling and cooking, especially the time she spent with her husband running their catering business, Simply the Best Catering. Those that knew Mary Rose would describe her as a strong-willed woman who was always putting others first. She was also known to make sure everyone was fed and that she was always there for her community and those that needed her. Mary Rose DiFranco passed away on December 10, 2025. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Prayers of Christian Burial Friday, December 19, 2025 at 1PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary Rose at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) FRIDAY 10AM-1PM.
