Nikola Strmac

NIKOLA STRMAC age 75, beloved husband for 52 years of Marica (nee Deanovic); loving father of Dennis (wife Snjezana) and Igor Strmac (wife Maja); devoted grandfather of Alen (wife Jill), Nikola, Mateo, and Tessa and great-grandfather of Luka; cherished son of the late Daniel and Marija (nee Crljenica)) Strmac; dearest brother of Ankica Jelenic (husband Stjepan, deceased) and Slavica Perko (husband Joe); dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, and friend of many.

Nikola was born in Zumberak, Croatia on June 5, 1947, and lived in Jastrebarsko, Croatia where he began a family with the love of his life, Marica. Together they had their first son and in 1977 immigrated their family of 3 to the United States. It was then that their family of 3 became a family of 4. Nikola and his family previously lived in Cleveland, Ohio, where he faithfully attended St. Vitus Catholic Church. They then moved to Mentor and Concord Township, which allowed them to become parishioners of St. Bede. He enjoyed traveling, spending time on the beach, and landscaping. He took pride in a well-manicured lawn and spent a lot of time working in his yard and gardens to ensure they looked their best. Hardworking, he worked many years at Pako, Inc. before his retirement. A social and hospitable man, he enjoyed entertaining his friends and family. They never went without food and a great laugh when they were with Nikola. His conversations consisted of a quick joke, something about the Cleveland sports teams, and anything car related. On July 29, 2022, Nikola was called to eternal rest leaving his family and friends missing him until the day they meet again.

Family and friends requested to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor, Ohio 44060 at 11:30 AM.

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Nikola at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 4-8 PM.
