Pauline A. Owens

PAULINE A. OWENS (nee Lisi), passed away July 26, 2025, aged 86 years, beloved wife of the late John "Jay", loving mother of Patrick J. (wife Jacquelyn), and twins Kevin L. (wife Lisa Marie) and Lisa M. Pryor (husband Rich), cherished grandmother of Joshua, Criseida, Colin, Anna and Maria, cherished daughter of the late John B. and Katherine R. (nee Muraca) Lisi, fond sister of the late Joseph P. Lisi and Phyllis K. Lisi.

Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Pauline followed her sister, Phyllis, to Cleveland and began work as a Surgical Technician at the Cleveland Clinic, where she met her future husband, "Jay," who served as a Medical Photographer. Pauline married Jay in 1962 and remained a faithful wife and companion through his death in 2000. After raising her children, Pauline returned to the Cleveland Clinic Hospital system, where she culminated her working career as the Director of the Word Processing Department at Huron Road Hospital.

Pauline was a devout Catholic and a proud member of the St. Louis Parish (Cleveland Hts.) Choir, where she sang Soprano and played flute for much of her adult life. With a gift for music, Pauline also played violin and piano. She volunteered at various St. Louis events frequently to support a wide range of parish activities. Pauline was also a member of the International Order of the Alhambra (Carmona Caravan #75), where she committed to improving the lives of the developmentally disabled through her charitable works, including dressing as a clown for special events (along with Jay). Later in life, Pauline spent her free time knitting hats and scarves to help underprivileged youth stay warm during the harsh Cleveland winters.

As an animal lover, Pauline was fortunate to become the proud owner of a Morgan Mare named Miss Style (Missey, for short). She trained with Missey in equestrian events, which she enjoyed for the athletic challenge and the freedom she felt in working in unison with Missey at the many challenges inherent to the discipline. Pauline also enjoyed multiple trips to the Dolphin Research Center with her sister, Phyllis, where they volunteered and supported the center's mission to promote the peaceful coexistence of marine mammals, humans, and the environment.

Pauline loved her five grandchildren deeply. Their presence in her life motivated her to live each day to the fullest, even after Jay's passing. She spent time with them whenever possible and made wool blankets, memory books, and photo albums to demonstrate her love for them. Her love of children and play was the subject of a poem, "The Neighborhood Kid", written to her by Jay. Pauline will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who were blessed to have known her.
