Phillip Fulgenzi

May 9, 1945 — May 4, 2025

Kirtland

PHILLIP LOUIS FULGENZI age 79, beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Woosley); loving father of Phillip Fulgenzi (Amber) and the late Samantha Hochmuth; devoted grandfather of Zoe, Ethan, Harper, and Beckham; cherished son of the late Louis and Lucy (nee Monaco) Fulgenzi; adoringly raised by the late Josephine and Louis Monaco; dearest brother of the late Louis Monaco Jr. (Mary), Dolores Savoca (Tom), and Jean Pala (Floyd) ; dear uncle and friend of many.

Phillip was born on May 9, 1945, to Louis and Lucy Fulgenzi, in Cleveland Ohio. He was raised by his Aunt Josephine and Uncle Louis Monaco, who loved him as if he was their own son. From an early age, Phillip was devoted to his catholic faith and was an altar boy at St. Benedict Catholic Church where he carried out his many responsibilities with the upmost reverence. His faith continued to follow him later in his life, with Phillip becoming a loyal parishioner at Divine Word Catholic Church. After he graduated from Benedictine High School, Phillip went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service, where he eventually retired from. At the same time, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann, who he decided to marry and start a family with. Phillip was a man who never put himself first, and was a saintly caregiver to Mary Ann, a doting father to his children, and later a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren. He also adored his precious feline friends Dylan and Fontleroy, and canine companion Fancy. Phillip found the most joy in life spending time with his grandchildren and would always tell them to 'be good and stay out of trouble', passing down the same sage advice that he told his own children for many years. Phillip loved being around boats and water, spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, swimming, and he loved playing the accordion. He especially liked tinkering with things, and he was always the guy to call when something needed fixed. Phillip loved celebrating all holidays, but Christmas held a special place in his heart. He hosted Christmas for his family every year, and always made sure his home was a warm and welcoming place with plenty to eat. Above all, Phillip was a truly selfless man who gave his life to caring for those he loved. Phillip was called home to heaven on May 4, 2025, and will be dearly missed by all those who had the honor of knowing him.
