Richard E. Bretz

RICHARD E. “DICK” BRETZ, age 80. Beloved husband for 55 years of the late Helen T. (nee Hanahan). Loving father of Ellen Cooper (husband Gary), Richard J. (wife Nancy), Martin (wife Pam), Dennis (wife Chrissy), Timothy (wife Terri), Linda Blasko (husband David), Kathleen Speth (husband Mark) and Jeffrey (wife Jennifer). Devoted grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of 41/2. Cherished son of the late Martin and Anna (nee Drotleff). Dearest brother of Martin and the late William. Dear uncle, great-uncle, brother-in-law and friend of many.

Dick was a member of the Saxon Lodge. He sang in the choir at St. Clare Church, was a Eucharistic Minister and on the Parish Council. He loved bowling and golf, pinochle, softball and playing Monopoly. He was a jokester, fun loving, strong willed and a man who loved a good time. He was very committed to family and family values. Dick was a purchasing agent for General Electric and a sales representative for Carton Service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at St. Clare Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. The burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dick at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) TUESDAY 1-4 and 6-9 PM.
