Richard P. Vance

RICHARD P. VANCE age 95, beloved husband of the late Eve (nee Galich); loving father of Richard (wife Victoria) and Laura; devoted grandfather of Bailey Wells (husband Walter), Robin Dodson (husband Jeffrey), and Riley Vance, and great-grandfather of Thomas and Esme Wells; cherished son of the late Stephen and Rose (nee Toth); treasured brother of Rita and the late Edward and Daniel; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

WWII U.S. Army Veteran.

Richard was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on November 9, 1929 and passed away on August 16, 2022.  He was a resident of Mayfield Heights since 1965, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. After graduating from East Tech High School in 1945 and serving in the U.S. Army in World War II, Richard attended what is now known as Case Western Reserve University. He worked for many years as a division manager for Sears department stores. Richard was an avid sports fan, especially golf, horse racing, and the Cleveland Browns and Indians/Guardians. He was a hardworking handyman who was also fun-loving, sociable, and friendly with a great sense of humor. Richard was devoted to his family and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Richard to the Alzheimer’s Association.
