Chick Dolciato

April 13, 1934 — January 31, 2026

RONALD J. “CHICK” DOLCIATO age 91, beloved husband for 69 years of Mena (nee DeLuca); loving father of Rocco, Rick (wife Anna), and Ron (wife Elana); devoted grandfather of Matt (fiancé Alexis Vardavas), Katie (husband En’Ante Pearl), Sabrina, Nico (wife Brooke), Gianna, Francesca, and Liliana; and great-grandfather of Lucianna and Amillia; cherished son of the late Sylvester and Rose (nee Cesa); dearest brother of the late Anthony (wife Dorothy deceased); dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend of many. U.S. Army Veteran.

Chick was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 13, 1934. He attended John Adams High School, graduating with the class of 1952. In 1954, he met the love of his life, Mena, and they were married in 1957. He went on to own and operate Utilities Construction. Family was the most important thing to him. He taught his family how to love and take care of each other by the way he lived. He truly cherished his sons and grandchildren, who chose to hang out with and do everything with their Dad/Papa because he was one of their friends. As far as friends go, anyone you talk to loved spending time with him. Whether it was going to dinner, a sporting event, and especially golf. He carded 5 hole-in-ones...YoMama! He was a phenomenal athlete that played hockey, handball, softball, bocce, soccer, and boxing but his true love was football. He had a passion for coaching football and taught so many how to play the game with humility and class. He led the St. Paschal Baylon CYO football team to four city championships and was the quarterback coach and head JV coach at John Carroll University from 1987 to 1992. In his free time, he was an avid weightlifter, enjoyed playing golf, and watching movies. During the winter months you would find Chick with Mena in Naples, Florida. Chick’s generosity was beyond comprehension; he would do anything for anyone and not ask for anything in return. He leaves behind a legacy of inspiration, motivation, and positivity. Chick passed away on January 31, 2026, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
