ROSALIE F. DEFRANCO (nee Casarona) age 97, beloved wife of the late Pasquale; loving mother of twins, Martin (wife Kristi) and the late Michael (wife Laurie); devoted grandmother of Nicholas (fiancée Lindsay Koncler), Dominic (deceased), Natalie DeFranco, Jennifer Krysiak (husband Kevin), Maria Keller (husband Bob) and Alexa DeFranco; great-grandmother "Gigi" of Olivia, Nora, Vincent, Gia and Nina; cherished daughter of the late Frank Casarona and Josephine "Vera" (nee DeMaria) ; dearest sister of Frank J. Casarona (wife Shirley); dear aunt, great-aunt and cousin of many. Loving step-grandmother of 12.
Rosalie was born April 16, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up in Woodland and graduated from John Hay High School in 1947. Rosalie prided herself as a homemaker but worked for some time as a manager of a dress shop. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and a room mother for the Women's Guild. She often helped with the church festivals. She was also a member of the Christ Child Society. Rosalie was a fan of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, shopping, and a good cup of coffee. She loved all things fashion, be it shoes, purses, jewelry, or makeup. Rosalie enjoyed traveling and boating, especially to the beach where she could soak up the sun. She was an avid sports fan of the Browns, Indians, and Cavs. She was very conscious of her health and spent much of her free time baking and cooking. A social butterfly, Rosalie never knew a stranger and loved talking to people. She will be remembered for her friendly spirit, great sense of humor, and devotion to her family and faith.
