Rose Marino

ROSE MARINO (nee Barone), aged 82 years, beloved wife for 59 years to Vincent D., loving mother of Angela Marino, John Marino and Theresa Ferenac (Robert), devoted grandmother of Joseph and Nicholas Raith, and Dominic, Andrew and Victoria Ferenac, dearest great-grandmother of Joseph Nicholas Raith, cherished daughter of the late Gaspare and Frances (nee Nosse) Barone, treasured sister of Angela Barone and the late Anthony, Gaspar “Gabby” and Carl Barone, dear lifelong friend Jean Addison, fond aunt and great-aunt.

Rose was born in Cleveland and raised in Collinwood where she attended Christ the King School and Collinwood High School. She worked at Bowman and GE Nela Park. In 1963, she married Vince and was a devoted wife for 59 years. They lived in Little Italy where they started their family. They later moved to South Euclid, where she spent the next 54 years raising three children. She was an active member of St. Gregory the Great Parish and enjoyed going to mass there.  She was involved in the school PTA and eventually became a lunch-aid at Adrian Elementary school. She even led her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. Over the years, she participated in many bowling leagues, enjoyed Bingo and card nights with her friends, and liked decorating cakes and making chocolate which eventually led to her job at Sweet Surprises Candy Store. She enjoyed listening to music from the 50s to Top 40 and loved to watch “I Love Lucy” episodes and Food Network on TV.

Her world revolved around her family. She especially loved family gatherings for holidays, special occasions, celebrations, and family game day. She made sure everyone felt special on their day.  She devoted her life to her family and would drop everything if anyone needed her, especially her grandchildren. She spent many years caring for her grandchildren and prioritized attending their sporting events and activities. Spending time with her grandchildren – whether it was having them over for dinner, watching a sporting event on TV, or playing games – brought her great joy. She was thrilled to be a great-grandmother. Throughout the years she loved traveling on Family vacations and Casino Bus trips.

She was a caring person who always put others first and only said kind things about everyone. She passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023, surrounded by her family.  She was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
